I saw my friend Karen from Texas for dinner while in Newport last week. We both reminisced about how good things were in Texas. So in honor of her and the great state... here are my top 10 things I miss about Texas.
1. Mayborn museum. Every Monday.
2. Rudys.
3. The most fun group of girlfriends I ever had.
4. Seriously, seriously crazy ICU (an old lady once strangled me with her EKG cords)
5. My calling as a nursery leader though now looking back after having been a primary pres, I would be more diligent now.
6. Elliott. The spastic dog whom we really were not ready for and hid from our landlords.
7. Living next door to drunk co-eds. Priceless.
8. The zoo playdates. The Waco zoo has the most active and fun Gibbons and otters I have ever seen. Trust me, I'm a fan of zoos and have been to many. Waco had some good animals.
9. Baylor Speech pathology preschool that gave my daughter 10 hours of speech per week for free.
10. Really, Really good mexican food.
Things I don't miss:
No Sushi restaurant
Practice Court
Night shift
Mind numbing heat

Thanks. I feel honored. I agree with most of your list, we didn't have drunk neighbors or your dog :)
I wish I had remembered a photo too. Next time :)
Love this post! What a fun 4 yrs we had in good ol' Waco! I was at the VA Living Museum yesterday and was thinking about how much I missed Waco's otters. Oh...and Mayborn...I loved that place. Playgroup was also so fun. ANYHOW, Mandy Moore said they split the 2nd Ward this month....now there is a Hewitt ward too! I will forever miss that place!
I'm still in Texas, but it's just not the same as Waco. At least we all got to be there together for awhile. Thanks for the memories.
